On World Tourism Day, Gerry`s Group Director Arshad Wali Muhammad talking about tourism in Pakistan said that Pakistan is a beautiful country with natural and cultural heritage, Government must strive to promote this sector in the country as tourism helps boost not only economy and employment opportunities, but is need of time to portray Pakistan as a friendly country contrary to the current terrorist stigma.

He shared that he has come across many expatriates who want to show the Pakistan to their new generations but are apprehensive of the current prevailing situation in Pakistan. He also said that 2012 marked the record of one billion tourists travelling internationally but it is sad state despite having unsurpassed beauty we are unable to entice any tourism owing to security concerns of international tourists. The security situation has marred domestic tourism even. He further added that this has also earned notoriety to the green passport, thus resulting in rejection of visas to many European and American destinations. He wished for a better future of tourism within Pakistan.
